Have Dreams News
World Autism Awareness Day 2011
As part of Autism Awareness Month Have Dreams was a proud participant in the 2011 World Autism Awareness Day on April 2. This year, with the help of Bennett Leventhal, M.D. we took our efforts international and were part of an autism awareness art exhibit in Beijing at Peking University! Dr. Leventhal and his wife, Young Shin Kim, M.D. were present at the event and informed Have Dreams it was an “enormous success.”
Have Dreams entered a number of different pieces into the exhibit including self portraits, oil paintings and cityscapes, which were all on display in our own designated area. Being able to have our own section allowed us to create a Have Dreams presence with logos and branding which help to increase awareness for Have Dreams and our autism services. We were thrilled to be included in such a special event, being able to continue forming global relationships is invaluable to the growth of Have Dreams.
We would like to send a special thank you to our art teacher, Alyssa Kulak for helping the children do the artwork and to Professor Liping Wei, PhD of Peking University for helping facilitate this opportunity.
Congratulations to all of our Have Dreams students, we are extremely proud of you!
