Structured Teaching Reading & Social Leisure

January 16 & 17, 2018

Have Dreams will be offering another Reading & Social Leisure training late winter/early spring. Announcements will be e-mailed and posted on website as soon as dates are confirmed.

The Reading Session of this Structured Teaching autism training covers dozens of ideas for adapting books and increasing literacy. Skill levels range from matching concepts through advanced reading comprehension and even ideas for book groups.

The Social Leisure session of this training shows various ways to adapt commercially available independent and social leisure materials to make them accessible and enjoyable to children with autism. A presentation and videos provide the background for using the adapted materials.

Have Dreams Structured Teaching Academy 2017-2018 

Starting September 26 & 27, 2017 with a Basic Elements of Structured Teaching Training

(All trainings are set up for Academy members to work within cohort with a view to becoming trainers.)

After two successful years of the Have Dreams Structured Teaching Academy, we will again be offering the Academy for the 2017/18 school year.
The Academy covers a year-long schedule of 10 days of autism specific trainings and support in cohort programs of maximum 25 classroom teachers.
Teachers will be mentored, trained and provided materials to present the following trainings to their district/school:
  1. Autism 411 Training Module
  2. ParaPro Training Module
  3. Related Services Training  Module
Due  to the intensity of the Academy space is limited to 25 participants at a cost of $3,000 (a value of $3,500 if each training is attended individually).
