Have Dreams, a leader in the autism community for 26 years, is seeking a clinical intern enrolled in a master’s degree program in clinical mental health counseling and/or rehabilitation counseling to join our team. The intern will support a small caseload of neurodivergent clients at our Evanston location. This candidate should have experience working with individuals (ages 6+) and families affected by an autism spectrum disorder. They should be interested in developing their clinical skills while collaborating with their colleagues.
Ideal candidates should possess strong leadership skills, communication, flexibility, time management, and organizational skills. Candidates will receive training in autism best practices as well as individual and group clinical supervision to support their skill development.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, or a closely related field
Currently enrolled in a graduate degree program in clinical mental health counseling and/or rehabilitation counseling and seeking fulfillment of the internship requirement
Minimum of one year of experience working with individuals with disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and/or mental health conditions
Able to commit to weekly in-person client sessions and telehealth options at our Evanston location
Strong communication skills, organizational skills, and overall professionalism
Eager to support a small caseload of autistic clients and/or family members, including preparing for sessions, documenting all client work in a timely manner, and participating in weekly supervision sessions
Must maintain a minimum of 9 weekly direct client contact hours including an individual caseload and support in group programs as necessary and participate in weekly individual/group supervision as scheduled
Schedule: Weekday daytime and afternoon/evening sessions
