Social Story
Social stories are helpful, visual social learning tools that support the exchange of information between parents, professionals, and people with autism. Have Dreams often uses social stories in their programs and shows professionals how to create them in their trainings. Downloadthis social story to start talking about what is ahead.
Recipes
Keep things simple. Try a recipe and have your child help the first week or two with planning/prepping meals. This will help them to feel more in control of their day and take out of some of the anxiety that food can cause for some people with ASD.
